Our client’s challenge

Hitachi Capital (UK) PLC is a leading financial services company with over 40 years’ experience providing innovative finance solutions that help consumers and businesses to grow and prosper, now formally trading as Novuna which has approx 100 employees.

In 2022, along side its rebranding, Novuna was building a culture of customer centricity, improving customer contact, relationship management and the move to a mentoring approach. At the same time it was looking to implement a new strategy and communicate it to its own employees in an impactful way that would drive behaviour and mindset changes.

In the past, important business messages were not resonating with employees. The main way of communicating has been detailed low level communications. Now the foundations for the new 5-year plan were in place, it was time to share a clear path for the business that all involved could get behind.

Our solution and results

The Big Picture People, in partnership with LeoDo, helped Novuna create a bespoke Discovery Map® which allowed its employees to understand the new strategy in a visual format.

Initially, Novuna had a preparatory call with The Big Picture People to understand their organisational Big Picture narrative. Following this, The Big Picture People and Leodo ran two half-day workshops with the Novuna leadership team to develop an understanding of the company history and the strategy. These facilitated workshops enabled The Big Picture People to gather and capture the content of the Discovery Map®. The workshops were delivered online. After the workshop, Novuna received a high-resolution digital version of their Discovery Map® that was eventually printed at a scale that allowed it to be used to line the wall of a busy corridor where it is used to orientate staff to its messages.

The Discovery Map® has been very well received by Novuna and its employees.
